This double degree programme starts in October 2018 at Collegium Civitas, where students will spend two semesters taking core modules in International History and Security Studies with special focus on Central and Eastern Europe, the European Union and its external relations, issues related to terrorism, energy security and sustainable development. After the first year students will spend a further two semesters at West Virginia University the following courses in international history, with elective courses in ethics in global politics, history of intelligence, foreign policy, history of dictatorships and democratization, human rights, international law and environmental challenges. Graduates from the programme will receive two M.A. degrees: an M.A. in History from WVU and a Magister degree in International Relations from CC.

education requirements

Holders of bachelor diplomas may apply for the Master programs. A certificate of proficiency in English for foreigners is required (unless the bachelor or high school courses were taught in English).

• A writing sample (a motivation letter or an essay of max. 800 words)
• Three recommendation letters by people familiar with their academic performance and/ or involvement in extracurricular activities
• The results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (not needed for native English speakers)
• Transcripts with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale at WVU and a minimum of 3.75 GPA on a 5-point scale
