Clinical Psychology is a subspecialty within the discipline of Psychology which covers a broad area of issues related to mental health prevention, assessment and treatment. By choosing this specialty you will learn the basics of human psychopathology, that is how mental and behaviour disorders are manifested and how they are classified. You will also study the rudimentary principles of diagnosing clients with mental health problems by means of standard psychological assessment methods, such as the clinical interview, behaviour observation and psychological tests. During the courses from this specialty you will have an opportunity to develop and practise your own communication skills necessary when dealing with clinical clients. You will also learn the various psychological approaches that are applied to prevent and treat people with mental disorders. The knowledge and skills you gain after completing the programme will provide you with an excellent starting capital for continuing your further academic career towards MA in Clinical Psychology or other related fields.
