Course Description

Course Profile

The second degree programme in midwifery is offered as continuation of the first degree studies. Studies have a general academic profile, improve the quality of practical knowledge acquired so far, enriching it with issues in the field of specialized midwifery and gynecological care, ultrasound diagnostics, writing prescriptions, management in midwifery, education in the professional practise of midwives and scientific research in midwifery. They are prepared to practice their profession in compliance with the principles of general and vocational ethics with the holistic approach towards the patients, observing and respecting their rights. They are competent in health promotion, prophylactics and professional obstetric-gynaecological care at throughout preconception, prenatal and perinatal periods as well as menopause and senium. They learn how to diagnose and monitor normal pregnancy, to receive natural labour and to observe abnormal conditions in the mother and child. Graduates of second- cycle degree program are prepared for: 

providing highly specialized midwifery and gynecological care for women and their families

conduct scientific activity

Education Requirements

The qualification procedure for the second-cycle degree program in midwifery is based on:

- the grade point average obtained during the whole period of the first cycle degree program in midwifery (the grade point average calculated as an arithmetic average of the results of all examinations, credits ending a subject, obtained throughout the study period),

- certificate documenting English language fluency level.
