What and where to study? This is a question that almost 300,000 young Poles ask themselves every year. Which university has not only interesting fields of study, but also the best staff, good contacts with businesses, and extensive foreign exchange? By publishing the Perspektywy University Ranking, we help high school graduates make the most important life decisions.

From the beginning, i.e. since 2000, the Perspektywy University Ranking has been addressed primarily to university candidates, whom we want to help in choosing a field of study and a university - by providing the right information at the right time. In times of dramatically rapid civilization (technological, socio-political and economic )changes this knowledge is even more valuable for them.

The Perspektywy Ranking includes a vision of an ideal university - a model that Ranking Board adapts every year to the changing reality. World-class research and active participation in global scientific networking, high prestige, excellent staff, high level of teaching and internationalization, cooperation with business, implementation of university's social mission, ensuring good employment prospects for graduates - this is what its students and graduates expect from a university, as well as its partners and socio-economic environment.

The academic community is waiting for the results of the Ranking because, thanks to its cyclical nature, methodological consistency and ability to evolve, it has become a "mirror" in which academic, private and professional universities "look at themselves" every year.

As the methodology was improved and we moved to external data sources, another function of the Ranking was strengthened, which can be called "monitoring". By observing the changes in the position of individual universities, it was possible to determine which of them adopted the right development strategy and which is standing still or retreating... To stay at the forefront, you have to run faster than your competitors. The ranking is an element of building the quality culture of Polish higher education.

Perspektywy University Ranking (Poland) was the first national ranking to receive the IREG Approved quality certificate, awarded by the international organization IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, founded by a group of creators and analysts of university rankings from around the world.

The correct preparation of the ranking is supervised by the Ranking Board which role is to establish the ranking methodology, supervise the procedure for its implementation, and approve and announce the results. The board works under the leadership of prof. Michał Kleiber, former president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, chairman of the Polish Committee for UNESCO.

The Perspektywy University Ranking consists of four complementary rankings:

• Academic Schools Ranking covering all (except art) universities in the country with at least the right to confer doctoral degree;
• Private Universities Ranking including universities with the right to confer master degree;
• Public Academies of Applied Sciences and State Higher Vocational Schools Ranking;

We also publish:

• Ranking by Subject, this year covering 74 main fields or groups of fields of study at academic universities.

We would like to congratulate the authorities and the community of the University of Warsaw, which once again stood on top of the podium.

We send our words of appreciation for the Koźmiński University, which won all 25 editions of the Private Universities Ranking.

Congratulations to the University of Kalisz which is the best among universities included in the ministerial list of public vocational universities.
