The Medical University of Lodz (MUL) is a public academic institution with a long standing tradition, having educated generations of physicians and dentists who now practice in Poland and around the world. The University has a history of over 80 years, and for more than 20 years it has successfully delivered degree programs taught in English. Over the past two decades, MUL has proudly graduated over 1,400 doctors and dentists, now practicing across the globe.
MUL offers internationally recognized degree programs in Medicine (MD) and Dentistry (DMD), taught entirely in English. With decades of experience, the Medical University of Lodz offers a welcoming, supportive, and multicultural environment for students from all over the world.
The Medical University of Lodz is deeply rooted in the traditions of Polish and European medicine, while remaining fully aligned with global standards and priorities in modern healthcare education and research.
The curriculum is built on a strong and rigorous foundation in basic and clinical medical sciences. Highly qualified, internationally minded academic staff actively encourage independent thinking, scientific inquiry, and student involvement in research. Particular emphasis is placed on practical, hands on clinical training, ensuring excellent preparation for future medical and dental practice.
A key strength of MUL is its exceptionally strong clinical base. The University owns three major teaching hospitals with more than 1,600 hospital beds, providing outstanding opportunities for clinical education, professional development, and advanced scientific research.
Modern medical education at MUL is further supported by an advanced Central Teaching Hospital, which includes the ultra modern Medical Simulation Center. This state of the art facility offers high fidelity simulators and advanced training technologies, allowing students to practice and refine clinical skills in safe, controlled, and realistic conditions, before working with real patients.
Beyond academics, students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of extracurricular activities. The Student Scientific Society brings together active student research clubs, enabling students to develop their interests, present their scientific work, and collaborate with peers and academic experts. The English Division Student Council organizes events, cultural gatherings, social activities, and parties, helping international students feel at home and build a strong, inclusive community. Students may also participate in Erasmus+ exchange programs, gaining valuable international experience and building cross cultural connections across Europe and beyond. For those interested in sports, students can join AZS – the Academic Sports Association, which offers numerous sports sections, including football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, swimming, and many other disciplines.
