What are you going to learn after choosing this major?

 

·         Organizing, equipping and running catering facilities

·         Principles of proper nutrition

·         Catering technology

·         Organization and operation of the food and nutritional services market

·         The foundations of food legislation

·         Food safety rules and food quality systems

·         Basics of marketing in gastronomy

 

What can you gain by studying tourism at WSB University?

·         You will study at a university included in the list of the best non-public schools with the first degree of education in tourist faculties according to the ranking of Wiadomości Turystyczne monthly.

·         You will complete internships in well-known hotels, restaurants, and gastronomic and tourist companies in Poland and abroad (Spain or Greece). As part of the Erasmus + Program, you will gain the opportunity to study at a foreign university.

·         You will learn from skilled practitioners holding senior positions in companies.

·         As stated in the Development Strategy for the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship by 2020, tourism constitutes one of 5 development avenues

·         You can complete additional courses, including IT systems in the hotel industry, a tour leader and a free-time animator, or a wellness instructor, just to name but a few.

You will learn to use modern software for the tourism industry, including ORACLE Hospitality Suite 8 or Amadeus. You will also be able to get a certificate attesting to your skills in implementing this software

Education Requirements

You can enroll in a first degree (e.g. Bachelor’s or Engineer’s) program if you have successfully completed your secondary education and have a secondary school-leaving certificate.

Other Requirements

The documents that the candidate provides:

1. A photo taken following the requirements for the passport photo.

2. A photocopy of the secondary school-graduation certificate (for the candidates from the East, an atestat or a diploma of a junior specialist).

3. A secondary school graduation diploma or a junior specialist diploma requires an apostille or credentials from a consulate or an embassy, ​​the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Education in your country.

4. An apostille or other certification (legalization) is not required from the candidates from the EU, the EEA, the OECD, EFTA, ETA, and the countries that have signed the Hague Convention, with the exception of candidates from Ukraine.

5. A translation of the high-school diploma into Polish or English.

The candidates may inquire the pertinent WSB about the necessity of the translation before they can translate the certificate.

(WSB University in Szczecin does not accept graduation certificates in Russian or Ukrainian; other Universities will allow such documents in their original form).

A sworn translation is not required.

6. Confirmation of the English language skills for studies in English.

If the candidate for the studies has a language certificate confirming the knowledge of English at B2 level, they will be asked to deliver it.

The level of English proficiency will be confirmed during a conversation via Skype.

7. The confirmation of knowledge of Polish for studies in Polish is not required.
