Course Description

Course Profile

Midwifery degree offered by the Medical University of Lublin meets national and EU standards and requirements of medical education. The students fulfill the  program that prepares them for a challenging but also very rewarding career as a midwife. The practical classes and internships are organized in such a way that the acquisition of practical skills in natural conditions is preceded by the development of these skills in low-fidelity simulation training, namely in obstetric skills laboratories and nursing skills laboratories at the Medical Simulation Centre. The practical classes and apprenticeships are conducted in various hospital wards, such as: labour wards, maternity and neonatal wards, pregnancy pathology wards and gynaecology wards. The practical classes and internships also take place in primary midwifery care units, gynaecological and obstetrics clinics, as well as during antenatal classes and in breastfeeding clinics.

Education Requirements

1. High School Diploma/Transcript:

-          Obligatory: Biology

-          Additional: one out of three to be chosen: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics

-           the above listed results as well as the results of the entrance interview and the qualification test can be also proved by BMAT result.

Grades obtained in high school are recalculated into qualification points; each subject gives maximum 100 qualification points;

2. The entrance interview evaluating motivation, empathy, teamwork, career aspirations as well as life & mathematical sciences terminology; on-line, the maximum number points amounts to 100;

3. The qualification test evaluating knowledge in life & mathematical sciences terminology;
