Course Description
Course Profile
General idea of the study: the complexity of the modern world and processes, as well as the functioning of in a multicultural environment, require an interdisciplinary approach and multifaceted skills in the sphere of domestic state policy and international relations. The direction of the EAP is designed to prepare future cadres involved in public activities at the national and foreign levels for the challenges of analyzing political and cultural processes and shaping international relations, and thus enable the realization of key state interests.
Addressees of the studies: people interested in working or working in public administration, European institutions, third sector organizations; all those who want to expand their analytical skills and gain up-to-date knowledge in the field of international relations, political science and management and marketing.
Main subjects: geopolitics, European politics, artificial intelligence in the public sphere, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, religious diplomacy, neuro-leadership, critical thinking, PR and political marketing, negotiation, diplomatic protocol.
Justification: Modern international policy, including European policy, is no longer solely the domain of individual governments. In an era of globalization, digitization and increasing information flows, public diplomacy is becoming an indispensable tool in shaping foreign policy, building international relations and managing the image of institutions. The market today requires professionals capable of effectively communicating policies, values and actions in a way that engages not only the political elite, but also individual social groups and representatives of the third sector.
The study of European Public Diplomacy is designed to educate such specialists who will combine interdisciplinary knowledge with practical skills for building international relations, communicating, negotiating or managing effectively in the era of innovative knowledge-based economies.
In the face of political, economic or environmental crises, such as the migration crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic or climate change, the role of public diplomacy becomes invaluable. Properly conducted communication can not only prevent the escalation of crises, but also strengthen the legitimacy and credibility of European institutions in the eyes of citizens and other countries.
Through cooperation with various institutions, graduates will be prepared to work in a variety of sectors, including public administration, international organizations, EU institutions, PR agencies or communications companies.
Education Requirements
Candidates with a graduate degree in a field assigned to the discipline of “political science and administration” will be qualified on the basis of their grade point average in the course of study.
Candidates who do not have a degree in a field assigned to the discipline “political science and administration” will be qualified on the basis of an entrance exam conducted in English, during which the candidate’s general knowledge of European public diplomacy will be tested and the motivation to study in this field will be assessed.
