Course Description

Course Profile

The complexity of today’s interconnected economy means that success in business is determined not only by economic knowledge and managerial skills, but also by the ability to understand global market dynamics, financial mechanisms, institutional structures and strategic business processes. The International Business master’s degree programme at the University of Rzeszów has been designed for students who want to build a professional career in an international environment and develop competences that are highly valued by employers across Europe and beyond.

This programme is an excellent choice for students who are interested in the global economy, international management, corporate finance, marketing and business strategy, and who want to understand how business decisions are shaped by economic, legal and institutional factors. It responds to the real needs of today’s labour market, where employers are looking for graduates who can think analytically, communicate effectively in English, interpret complex market developments and adapt to rapidly changing international conditions.

A major strength of the programme is its strong focus on the functioning of the global economy and the strategic aspects of business activity in international markets. In a rapidly changing and highly competitive environment, companies must be able to assess financial conditions, evaluate market potential, respond to economic risks and design effective long-term strategies. The programme therefore places special emphasis on understanding international economic processes, business institutions, corporate decision-making and the financial foundations of business development. This makes the programme particularly relevant for students who want to work in international corporations, finance, consulting, trade, marketing or business development.

The curriculum combines specialised international business courses with a solid academic foundation in economics, management, finance and law. Students gain knowledge in areas such as Global Economy, Business Institutional Environment, Corporate Social Responsibility, Quality Management, International Business Strategy and International Marketing. At the same time, they strengthen their analytical and professional competences through courses such as Econometrics and Economic Forecasting, Mathematical Economics, Macroeconomics, Managerial Economics, Business Law, Business Ethics, History of Economic Thought, Capital and Financial Markets, Human Resource Management and other subjects that support effective decision-making in modern business. This combination ensures that graduates are able not only to understand international business processes, but also to interpret data, assess market trends, evaluate risk and make informed strategic and financial decisions.

During the programme, students learn how to analyse international business environments, identify business opportunities and risks, and understand the mechanisms that shape contemporary global markets. They develop the ability to assess the economic and institutional conditions of different countries and regions, compare business strategies, evaluate the financial dimension of business operations and respond to challenges related to global competition, sustainable development and responsible management. They also acquire practical competences in communication, teamwork and problem-solving, which are increasingly important in modern organisations.

Another important advantage of the programme is its international learning environment. The master’s degree is taught entirely in English, which allows students to improve their professional language skills and prepare for employment in international organisations and companies operating on global markets. The Faculty of Economics and Finance has many years of experience in educating international students and cooperating with partner universities abroad. As a result, students study in an academic environment that promotes openness, academic development and international mobility. This experience is especially valuable for young professionals who want to work in dynamic business settings shaped by international competition and cooperation.

Graduates of the programme are well prepared for a wide range of careers. They can find employment in international corporations, multinational enterprises, consulting and advisory companies, financial institutions, international trade and marketing departments, logistics and export-oriented businesses, public administration, and NGOs operating in an international context. They may work as business analysts, financial analysts, international sales specialists, market researchers, project coordinators, international marketing specialists, consultants or managers responsible for international operations and development. The programme also provides a strong basis for those who want to continue their education, undertake research, or develop their own business activity in international markets.

The career perspectives for graduates are very promising. As companies continue to expand internationally and global economic relations become more complex, there is growing demand for professionals who can combine business knowledge, analytical skills, financial literacy and strategic thinking. Employers increasingly value graduates who understand market mechanisms, can assess business risks and opportunities, and contribute to responsible, sustainable and innovative business development. The International Business programme equips students with exactly these competences, opening the door to a dynamic and future-oriented career path.

Choosing International Business at the University of Rzeszów means choosing a modern, practical and internationally relevant field of study. It is a programme for ambitious students who want to understand the world of business in a broad and responsible way, gain advanced analytical, economic and managerial skills, and prepare for a professional future in an increasingly competitive global economy.
