Course Description
Course Profile
Established in 1994 as the first field of study at PJAIT, Computer Science represents the university's longest-standing tradition and has grown from 90 to over 5000 students. The curriculum maintains a careful balance between essential mathematical foundations and world-changing modern technologies, ensuring students master both general IT knowledge and specialized competencies. Through hands-on laboratory work and partnerships with Poland’s leading tech companies, students gain real-world experience and teamwork skills necessary to lead innovation. This evolution from a pioneering program to the university's largest faculty reflects the growing importance of IT in society and prepares graduates to thrive as leaders in an ever-evolving global job market.
The curriculum is composed of two types of subjects: basic knowledge – obligatory for all students – and specialised knowledge – related to specialisations chosen by students. During the basic knowledge classes, students familiarise themselves with all areas of computer science and learn the most important programming languages such as: Java, C++, Python. Students are also introduced to: basic database techniques, principles of software development, and computer network development as well as applications of multimedia. The academic teaching system also contains a lot of practical elements, which makes our graduates highly sought after on the labour market.
Throughout the course of study at the academy, students have the opportunity to take an intensive English language course and an optional Japanese language course.
