Course Profile
The second cycle courses are organized into three modules:
Module 1: Basics - Compulsory courses in Practical English as well as introductory courses in Literary Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies
Module 2: Students choose a second cycle thesis seminar and additional courses within the following areas: General Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Linguistic Pragmatics, Translation Studies, British and American Literature and Culture.
Module 3: Specialist courses: - Culture, Media and Communication - Professional training in Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Polish Education System (competence in the Polish language required) - Professional training in Translation (competence in the Polish language required) - Professional training in Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language (competence in the Polish language required).

Education Requirements

The following documents are required (among others):

A diploma of completion of first-cycle (bachelor’s) studies in English Philology

or

2a. A diploma of completion of bachelor’s, engineering, or master’s studies assigned to the discipline of literary studies and/or linguistics, within which candidates acquired advanced knowledge, skills, and competencies in English linguistics, the literature of English-speaking countries, as well as elements of cultural and religious studies of English-speaking countries.

and

2b. Knowledge of English at the C1 level confirmed by a certificate.
