Course Description
Course Profile
International Relations and Area Studies (IRAS) is an undergraduate interdisciplinary programme that offers a rigorous international and comparative perspective on the contemporary global system and different regions of the world. Its mission is to foster creative thinking about complex global problems and to equip students with the analytical tools, language expertise, and cross-cultural understanding to guide them in that process. This degree provides a solid grounding in international issues together with an opportunity to specialise in a particular region or specific subject. You will learn how the international system has evolved, and engage with scholars in debates about dilemmas dominating contemporary international politics. Graduate's profile This degree programme combines intellectual rigour with a practical focus that allows its graduates to acquire significant intellectual and practical skills which will be valuable for their future careers, whether it is in government, non-governmental organizations, aid and development agencies, business, cultural and regional institutions or diplomacy. Graduates will be also able to apply for MA programmes in various social science disciplines.
Education Requirements
Studies can be undertaken by people who hold:
• international secondary education document: document entitling its holder to undertake first- or long-cycle studies in its country of issue,
• Polish Matura (2005–2024),
• Polish maturity certificate (issued up until 2005),
• International Baccalaureate,
• European Baccalaureate.
Second requirement is English language proficiency on the minimal level of B2.
