What are you going to learn by choosing this specialization?

·         how to organize an educational process in a non-formal and informal environment

·         about approaches and methods of teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) and how to implement them

·         how to actively involve students in the language learning process

·         learn about the principles of life-long learning

·         learn about digital teaching aids

Teaching EFL to all age groups in language schools, various associations

Teaching EFL in non-formal environments e.g.

- working as a (online) language tutor

- teaching in individualised learning programmes

- home schooling

 

What else should you know?

·         You don’t have to be a native speaker to apply, but you need a high command of English language.

·         We will prepare you for the PTE General Level 4 (C1) exam and you will be able to take it at our university’s Pearson Examination Centre.

·         You will be prepared to teach English in non-formal environments while travelling abroad.

·         This programme promotes equity with classroom pedagogies and facilitates dynamic learning and supportive relationships with faculty and students.

·         The leader of this course, Barbara Muszyńska Ph.D. in bilingual education (University of Cordoba, Spain), possesses also the following qualifications in English Language Teaching:

- DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) University of Cambridge, UK.

- INTESOL (Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language) International TESOL Training,  Pitlochry, Scotland 

- CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) University of Cambridge, UK.  

Education Requirements

You can enroll in a first degree (e.g. Bachelor’s or Engineer’s) program if you have successfully completed your secondary education and have a secondary school-leaving certificate.

Other Requirements

The documents that the candidate provides:

1. A photo taken following the requirements for the passport photo.

2. A photocopy of the secondary school-graduation certificate (for the candidates from the East, an atestat or a diploma of a junior specialist).

3. A secondary school graduation diploma or a junior specialist diploma requires an apostille or credentials from a consulate or an embassy, ​​the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Education in your country.

4. An apostille or other certification (legalization) is not required from the candidates from the EU, the EEA, the OECD, EFTA, ETA, and the countries that have signed the Hague Convention, with the exception of candidates from Ukraine.

5. A translation of the high-school diploma into Polish or English.

The candidates may inquire the pertinent WSB about the necessity of the translation before they can translate the certificate.

(WSB University in Szczecin does not accept graduation certificates in Russian or Ukrainian; other Universities will allow such documents in their original form).

A sworn translation is not required.

6. Confirmation of the English language skills for studies in English.

If the candidate for the studies has a language certificate confirming the knowledge of English at B2 level, they will be asked to deliver it.

The level of English proficiency will be confirmed during a conversation via Skype.

7. The confirmation of knowledge of Polish for studies in Polish is not required.
