Course Description
Course Profile
Operations Management - that is, operational management consists in the effective management of resources for the production and delivery of products and services of appropriate quality and in the shortest operational time. This programme includes the design, management and improvement of services, processes and supply chains. Effective operational management is therefore crucial not only for enterprises but also for society. It is a key aspect of the smooth operation of every enterprise from a strategic, financial and business development perspective. The programme of Master of Operations Management assumes the development of competences required for the effective performance of managerial tasks in various sectors of the economy, while education in English will enable the preparation of staff meeting the expectations of foreign investors and able to cooperate with international organizations.
The Master of Operations Management study program has been structured in such a way as to progressively develop increasingly complex managerial competences based on tasks and case studies delivered directly from business partners.
The program includes participation in the didactic process of representatives of companies cooperating with Lodz University of Technology. Company representatives will not only provide the most current surreal cases and problem tasks that are the basis for teaching based on the "case teaching" and "problem based learning" methods, but will also allow students to develop their competences based on the current needs of the labor market and business environment.
The study program takes into account the needs of various sectors of the economy, emphasizing the specificity of operational management, especially in an international environment. The program will be implemented based on the latest education concepts, including Problem Based Learning, Design Thinking and Flipped Education.
Education Requirements
Candidates have to hold a legalized diploma of first degree studies or another foreign document that entitles them to continue education at the second degree studies level.
A candidate must have very good knowledge of English proven by an international language certificate or an official document issued by candidate’s university stating that English was medium of instruction on the first degree study programme they have completed.
