Course Description

Course Profile

This double degree programme is a Masters in European Studies, jointly delivered by the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University and the Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche, Giuridiche e Studi Internazionali of the University of Padova. Students enjoy the opportunity to complete each academic year at the one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in two European countries. They will deepen their knowledge of the process of European integration and the functioning of European Union institutions in legal, economic, socio-political, and anthropological-historical perspectives. This double degree programme is designed to be completed in four semesters. The first year of the programme is held at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. Students follow a course of studies particular to European Studies, and all courses are run in English, with the possibility of completing some in Polish. The second year of studies takes place at the University of Padova, Italy and all courses are held in English. The programme is an integral part of the Master in “European and Global Studies” (LM-90) and offers lectures and seminars that deal with European issues in order to enable students to understand the dynamics of European integration and the process of globalisation and its national and international impact. Admission is performed in two phases: 1) the online application procedure for programmes at the Institute of European Studies and 2) a subsequent interview in English by the recruitment committee before admission to the programme.
